Bed Bug Treatment Preparation

Preparation is mandatory for successful bed bug control. Incomplete preparation will reduce effectiveness

Before your service appointment

1. Launder all fabrics
   • Wash ALL bedding, sheets, pillowcases, blankets, clothing, and washable fabrics in HOT water.
   • Dry on HIGH heat for a minimum of 60 minutes.
   • Place cleaned items into sealed plastic bags or bins and keep sealed until after treatment.
2. Declutter
   • Remove clutter from floors, closets on the floors, under beds, and furniture.
   • Bag loose items to allow full access to baseboards and furniture.
3. Prepare beds
   • Strip all bedding from mattresses and box springs.
   • Stand mattresses and box springs upright against the wall (if physically able).
   • Remove bed skirts.
4. Vacuum Thoroughly
   • Vacuum mattresses, box springs, bed frames, baseboards, and surrounding floors.
   • Dispose of vacuum contents immediately in a sealed bag outside the home.
5. Move furniture
   • Pull beds and furniture at least 6 inches away from walls.
   • Provide clear access to all baseboards and wall edges.
6. Electronics & personal items
   • Remove or isolate items near sleeping areas.
   • Do not spray store-bought pesticides before service.
7. Pets & Aquariums
   • Remove pets from treatment areas.
   • Cover fish tanks and turn off air pumps during treatment.

Post-Treatment

• Do not vacuum or clean treated areas for at least 14 days unless instructed otherwise.
• Do not wash treated surfaces.
• Expect to see bed bug activity for several weeks. This does NOT mean treatment failed.
• Sleep in the treated beds. This helps eliminate remaining bed bugs.
• Follow-up treatments may be required depending on infestation level.

Important Notes

Bed bug elimination requires full cooperation and preparation. Failure to properly prepare may void service guarantees. Severe infestations may require multiple treatments.
