Preparations Prior To Cockroach Treatment

Roach removal pest control calgary

Proper preparation is critical for a successful cockroach treatment. Failure to follow these instructions may reduce effectiveness and can void your warranty.

Before your service appointment

  1. Empty all kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers (only if your technician advised that spraying was needed)
    • Remove all food, dishes, cookware, utensils, and personal items.
    • Place items in sealed bins or boxes in another room in the middle of the room
  2. Clear countertops (only if your technician advised that spraying is needed)
    • Remove everything from kitchen and bathroom counters.
    • Leave surfaces completely accessible.
  3. Remove items from under sinks
    • Clear out under kitchen and bathroom sinks.
    • Fix any active plumbing leaks if possible.
  4. Pull appliances forward (if safe to do so)
    • Pull fridge and stove slightly away from wall to allow access.
    • Ensure power/gas lines are not strained.
  5. Clean prior to service
    • Vacuum floors and baseboards thoroughly.
    • Wipe up grease, food residue, and spills.
    • Take garbage out of the home.
  6. Pest & aquariums
    • Remove pets from treatment areas.
    • Cover fish tanks and turn off air pumps during treatment.
  7. Access
    • Ensure technician has full access to kitchen, bathrooms, utility areas, and baseboards.
    • Remove items blocking walls and corners.

Post-treatment

Ensure you are not in your unit/house for 4 hours after the treatment is done, including pets.

  • Do not clean treated areas for at least 10–14 days unless instructed otherwise.
  • Avoid wiping inside cabinets or along baseboards where product was applied.
  • It is normal to notice increased roach activity for 1–2 weeks.
  • Continue normal cleaning of untreated surfaces only.
  • Sanitation is critical: store food in sealed containers and reduce clutter.

Important notes

Cockroach control requires cooperation. Severe infestations may require multiple treatments. Following these preparation steps significantly improves results and reduces overall treatment time.
